A Family Holiday – O vacanță în familie

The Smith family is planning a summer holiday. They sit around the kitchen table with brochures and maps spread out in front of them. The children are excited about going to the seaside.
Familia Smith planifică o vacanță de vară. Stau în jurul mesei din bucătărie cu broșuri și hărți întinse în fața lor. Copiii sunt entuziasmați să meargă la mare.
Anna checks the weather forecast for the coast. She packs sunscreen, hats, and light clothes for everyone. Her husband Tom brings the large suitcases from the bedroom closet.
Anna verifică prognoza meteo pentru coastă. Ea împachetează cremă de soare, pălării și haine ușoare pentru toți. Soțul ei Tom aduce valizele mari din dulapul dormitorului.
On the morning of departure, the children wake up very early. They can hardly wait to get in the car. Tom checks the oil and the tyres before they leave.
În dimineața plecării, copiii se trezesc foarte devreme. Abia așteaptă să se urce în mașină. Tom verifică uleiul și anvelopele înainte să plece.
The drive takes about four hours. They stop once at a motorway service station for coffee and snacks. The children play a game to pass the time.
Drumul durează aproximativ patru ore. Se opresc o dată la o stație de autostradă pentru cafea și gustări. Copiii se joacă un joc ca să treacă timpul.
When they finally arrive, the small hotel looks lovely. It is painted white and has a beautiful garden with flowers. The receptionist gives them the key to room seven.
Când ajung în sfârșit, micul hotel arată minunat. Este vopsit în alb și are o grădină frumoasă cu flori. Recepționera le dă cheia camerei numărul șapte.
On the first day they go straight to the beach. The water is warm and the sand is soft. The children build a big sandcastle near the water.
În prima zi merg direct la plajă. Apa este caldă și nisipul este moale. Copiii construiesc un castel mare de nisip lângă apă.
In the evening they walk along the harbour and look at the boats. They eat dinner at a small restaurant with fresh fish. Anna says it is the best meal of the holiday.
Seara se plimbă de-a lungul portului și se uită la bărci. Mănâncă cina la un restaurant mic cu pește proaspăt. Anna spune că este cea mai bună masă a vacanței.
The next morning they visit a local market. There are colourful fruits, vegetables, and handmade crafts. Tom buys some honey and Anna buys a small ceramic plate.
A doua dimineață vizitează o piață locală. Sunt fructe colorate, legume și meșteșuguri handmade. Tom cumpără niște miere și Anna cumpără o farfurie mică de ceramică.
On the last day the family takes a boat trip to a nearby island. They swim in a quiet bay and take many photographs. The children find small shells on the rocks.
În ultima zi familia face o excursie cu barca pe o insulă apropiată. Ei înoată într-un golf liniștit și fac multe fotografii. Copiii găsesc cochilii mici pe stânci.
On the way home the children fall asleep in the car. They are tired but very happy. Anna smiles and says they should come back next year.
Pe drumul spre casă copiii adorm în mașină. Sunt obosiți dar foarte fericiți. Anna zâmbește și spune că ar trebui să se întoarcă anul viitor.
