A Family Holiday – Wakacje rodzinne

The Smith family is planning a summer holiday. They sit around the kitchen table with brochures and maps spread out in front of them. The children are excited about going to the seaside.
Rodzina Smith planuje letnie wakacje. Siedzą przy kuchennym stole z rozłożonymi broszurami i mapami. Dzieci są podekscytowane wyjazdem nad morze.
Anna checks the weather forecast for the coast. She packs sunscreen, hats, and light clothes for everyone. Her husband Tom brings the large suitcases from the bedroom closet.
Anna sprawdza prognozę pogody dla wybrzeża. Pakuje krem z filtrem, kapelusze i lekkie ubrania dla wszystkich. Jej mąż Tom przynosi duże walizki z szafy w sypialni.
On the morning of departure, the children wake up very early. They can hardly wait to get in the car. Tom checks the oil and the tyres before they leave.
W dniu wyjazdu dzieci budzą się bardzo wcześnie. Nie mogą się doczekać, żeby wsiąść do samochodu. Tom sprawdza olej i opony przed wyjazdem.
The drive takes about four hours. They stop once at a motorway service station for coffee and snacks. The children play a game to pass the time.
Podróż trwa około czterech godzin. Zatrzymują się raz na stacji przy autostradzie na kawę i przekąski. Dzieci grają w grę, żeby umilić sobie czas.
When they finally arrive, the small hotel looks lovely. It is painted white and has a beautiful garden with flowers. The receptionist gives them the key to room seven.
Kiedy w końcu docierają, mały hotel wygląda uroczo. Jest pomalowany na biało i ma piękny ogród z kwiatami. Recepcjonistka daje im klucz do pokoju numer siedem.
On the first day they go straight to the beach. The water is warm and the sand is soft. The children build a big sandcastle near the water.
Pierwszego dnia idą prosto na plażę. Woda jest ciepła, a piasek miękki. Dzieci budują duży zamek z piasku blisko wody.
In the evening they walk along the harbour and look at the boats. They eat dinner at a small restaurant with fresh fish. Anna says it is the best meal of the holiday.
Wieczorem spacerują wzdłuż portu i patrzą na łodzie. Jedzą kolację w małej restauracji ze świeżą rybą. Anna mówi, że to najlepszy posiłek podczas wakacji.
The next morning they visit a local market. There are colourful fruits, vegetables, and handmade crafts. Tom buys some honey and Anna buys a small ceramic plate.
Następnego ranka odwiedzają lokalny targ. Są tam kolorowe owoce, warzywa i rękodzieła. Tom kupuje miód, a Anna małą ceramiczną tackę.
On the last day the family takes a boat trip to a nearby island. They swim in a quiet bay and take many photographs. The children find small shells on the rocks.
Ostatniego dnia rodzina płynie łódką na pobliską wyspę. Pływają w cichej zatoce i robią dużo zdjęć. Dzieci znajdują małe muszelki na skałach.
On the way home the children fall asleep in the car. They are tired but very happy. Anna smiles and says they should come back next year.
W drodze powrotnej dzieci zasypiają w samochodzie. Są zmęczone, ale bardzo szczęśliwe. Anna uśmiecha się i mówi, że powinni wrócić w przyszłym roku.
