About This Site
Bilingual Learning was created with a simple idea: the best way to learn a new language is by reading texts you already understand in your own language, side by side with their translation.
Many language learners struggle with traditional textbooks that feel disconnected from real life. This project takes a different approach. Each lesson presents a short, everyday story — going to the supermarket, visiting a doctor, cooking at home — in two languages displayed side by side. You can read a sentence in the language you are learning, then immediately check the version you know. Over time, patterns become familiar and vocabulary sticks naturally.
The texts are written at two difficulty levels. Beginners start with simple sentences and common words. As you progress, intermediate texts introduce more complex grammar and richer vocabulary.
The site currently supports six language pairs: English with Polish, English with Romanian, English with Spanish, English with Portuguese, German with Romanian, and German with Polish. More language combinations and texts will be added over time.
This is a personal project built with Astro, a fast and flexible static site generator. The source code and content are available for anyone who wants to learn or contribute.
